A play centre is a space for playful activities, games and toys, particularly in early childhood education, intended to encourage physical and mental development and cooperation with others.

Ludoteca Matatena grew out of the concept of:
"Fun Learning"

It is a space created for children and parents, offering them a comfortable, trustworthy and safe environment.

Designed for children's enjoyment and learning, it offers workshops including cooking for parents and children, supervised homework, storytelling, creativity and early stimulation. It also has a cafeteria, a party room and an events garden.

This children's entertainment venue encourages free play and develops social skills, intellectual skills, communication skills, creativity, problem-solving, the reinforcement and development of values, the ability to follow rules and environmental awareness.

The refurbishment of a site distinguished by its green, wooded surroundings, covering 4 thousand m2 and containing an 800m2 house, sought to respect the essence of the house and its structure.

The original rooms became workshops, the kitchen became an industrial kitchen serving events and the restaurant, the sunroom became the dining area, and a new structure for the multipurpose hall was built in the garage area.

The outdoor spaces were preserved as much as possible, allowing the greenery to remain the main attraction.

The result is a hybrid of the French-inspired house, its green surroundings and a functional architectural proposal using glass and exposed steel structure.
